The Hospital lost money again in May, but the actual amount was not announced at the meeting. For the fiscal year (starting in October 2018), the Hospital has lost $3.6 million, compared to $5.1 million for the same period in 2018.
The Board voted to return to meeting only once every month on the third Tuesday at 11:30 am.
The Board and administrators carried on a discussion about how the loss of physicians under the previous board had resulted in severe losses in revenue due to a reduction in procedures performed, which is where the most revenue is generated. The Physician Recruitment Committee will be "re-activated" to try to find doctors to bring to Greenwood to replace the ones that were lost under the previous board.
CEO Subho Basu urged physician recruitment and said that the hospital must change the word on the street that it is not a good place to work.
The Board went into executive session and excluded the public and media for 45 minutes.
While in executive session, The Board approved three physician contracts.
