Around 100 citizens gathered on the street in front of the Greenwood City Hall at lunchtime to protest the murder of George Floyd.
The protest drew a mixture of all sorts of people, black and white, meeting together peacefully. Robert Wilson organized the protest.
The street was blocked off, and Greenwood police officers were present.
Mr. Wilson opened with brief remarks, followed by Mayor Carolyn Mcadams, Council President Ronnie Stevenson, and Police Chief Jody Bradley, along with State Senator David Jordan and Charles McCoy.
The protest lasted two hours, and concluded with a march around the block, along with police escort and the media.
