The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard several presentations during public agenda time. The regular monthly hearing on dilapidated properties was held. A new contract with the Humane Society was approved. The Council hired a company to maintain the elevator for the Elk's Lodge building which the city purchased recently.
