The Greenwood Leflore Hospital Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting.

According to the financial report given by Mrs. Dawne Holmes, the Hospital had an operating loss of $1.36 million in September.

The fiscal year ended September 30, 2023, with an overall annual loss of $8.89 million.

Operating revenue for the year was $57.4 million, while operating expenses were $74.9 million.

The overall loss would have been almost double had not the hospital received in loans and gifts $8.7 million from the city, county, and utilities company.

At the end of September, the useable cash and equivalents were $703,323.

As of the end of September, the hospital still owes Medicare $4.54 million. The Medicare loan is being paid down at around $102,000 per month.

The board then went into executive session, with the public and the press excluded for 63 minutes.
