The Greenwood Leflore Hospital Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting.
According to the financial report given by Mrs. Dawne Holmes, the Hospital had an overall loss of $2.08 million in November.
The increased loss was explained by the expected quarterly dip in MHAP payments to the hospital, and a large payment made to Lakeland Radiology for providing radiological services to the hospital.
At the end of November, the useable cash and equivalents were $2.4 million.
As of the end of November, the hospital still owes Medicare $4.37 million. The Medicare loan is being paid down at around $102,000 per month.
Mrs. Holmes also reported that the lump sum catch up payment for the enhanced MHAP reimbursement from Medicaid is expected to be received in the next couple of weeks.
According to previous estimates published by the Governor's office, it could be in the range of $4 to $5 million. It is retroactive to last July. Going forward, much smaller enhanced payments will be received on a monthly basis.
The board then went into executive session, with the public and the press excluded for 19 minutes.
