The Planning Commission, which is appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council, is responsible for previewing and approving plans to approve special uses and make exceptions to the zoning ordinances. All decisions are subject to final approval by the City Council of Greenwood.
The Greenwood Planning Commission held a meeting upstairs at the Greenwood City Hall.
Most of the meeting was taken up considering the request by the city council to amend the zoning ordinance regarding when apartments are permitted on the ground floor of buildings in the commercial zone. This matter apparently came up in reference to the proposed Antoon building rehabilitation into apartments.
