Phil Wolfe, six term supervisor for Leflore County District 1, announced that he will not seek re-election to his position this year. He said he will serve out the end of this term, which concludes December 31st, 2015.

Mr. Wolfe made his announcement at the beginning of today's first meeting of the year of the Leflore County Board of Supervisors.

Wolfe, who has served as supervisor since January 1992, stated that he has enjoyed his time representing his constituents, and that he has done his best to keep his promise to provide "a strong voice in county government."

Wolfe touted the board's success during his tenure in bringing new industries into the county, building a new jail, and not raising taxes. He also reminded the public that he has been a watchdog against waste, misuse of taxpayer funds, and corruption.

Wolfe stated that he wished to be able to spend more time with his family, and thanked the public for its strong support over the years.
