Specially appointed Judge Henry Lackey heard arguments yesterday in Greenwood concerning the mayoral election contest between Sheriel Perkins and Carolyn McAdams.
Perkins filed the contest in June 2013, alleging that numerous illegal votes were cast in the election for mayor.
At yesterday's hearing, Mayor McAdams' attorneys argued their motion for summary judgment to dismiss the case. Perkins argued that the case should proceed to trial.
The parties also argued about whether two affidavits should be suppressed, and about whether certain of Perkins' subpoenas should be quashed.
Judge Lackey promised to provide rulings on these matters shortly.
