Preston Ratliff's attorney, Willie Perkins, obtained a restraining order against key members of the Leflore County Democrat Executive Committee, to stop the Committee from holding a hearing today in the election contest between Mr. Ratliff and Anjuan Brown.

The Chancellor signed the order at 11:30 this morning, just a few minutes before the scheduled election contest hearing.
Perkins alleges that his client was not given the 5 days notice of the hearing as required by state law.
The restraining order was issued "ex parte," which means that Mr. Brown's side was not heard before the order was signed by the judge.
