The Greenwood School Board meeting this afternoon was rocked by pre-meeting protests and the abrupt resignation of interim Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Wilson.

Just before the start of the meeting, protesters appeared inside the school board meeting room and created a disruption. School security escorted David Jordan from the room after he refused to be quiet when the Board declined to add him to the agenda. He returned later and tried to pack the meeting and started speaking loudly again.

Board President George Ellis instructed Jordan to leave the building, and Jordan refused, but finally did sit down and remained quiet.

At the end of the meeting, Ellis announced that interim Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Wilson had provided him with a letter of resignation at 2 o'clock this afternoon announcing her resignation effective 4:30 this afternoon.

The Board then voted to accept her resignation effective immediately, and to amend the contract of Montrell Greene to appoint him Superintendent effective tomorrow morning.

A protest continued outside during the duration of the meeting.
