This morning, there appeared on the Mississippi Supreme Court's website an order denying the bail petition filed by Dr. Arnold Smith, who is being held without bail on charges of capital murder and conspiracy to commit murder against local attorney Lee Abraham.

Curiously, the order was filed with the court clerk on July 19 (Thursday), but it was signed on Wednesday, July 18, by Justice Ann Lamar. Justices Carlson and Pierce were the other two judges on the panel that turned down the petition.
