Dr. Arnold Smith has answered the lawsuit filed against him by attorney Lee Abraham, and has counter-sued Abraham for damages.
Abraham had sued Smith on July 13, claiming that Smith had hired Keaira Byrd and Derrick Lacy and others to kill Abraham. Smith has been charged with capital murder and conspiracy to murder Abraham. In his suit, Abraham asked for damages from Smith and Smith's Cancer Center.
In reply, Smith denies Abraham's claims, and then sues Abraham for conspiring against him to "accomplish a purpose that is unlawful," or to "accomplish a lawful purpose unlawfully."
Significantly, Smith's suit never specifies what Abraham's unlawful purpose was, nor does Smith's suit contain a single fact to support his allegations against Abraham.
Smith's answer and counter-claim is signed by his wife Mary K. Smith, as his agent and power of attorney. It is also signed by his attorney William C. Bell of Ridgeland.
It is surprising to The Taxpayers Channel that an attorney of Mr. Bell's standing would sign a complaint that alleges no facts in support of its claims.
