The agenda for the Greenwood City Council meeting of Tuesday, August 18, 2015 contains a resolution to remove the state flag from all city property.

The agenda item reads as follows:

(2) Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Greenwood, Mississippi removing the state flag from all municipal property

This move by the city to take down the state flag had been rumored to be in the works for several weeks now.

Leflore County Supervisors removed the state flag from county property earlier this week.
