Greenwood population drops another 205 people, shrinks 16.1% in 9 years

The latest population estimates published today by the United States Census Bureau show that the city of Greenwood has lost 16.1% of its population since July 2010. The Census Bureau estimates the population of Greenwood has dropped to 13,561, down from 13,766 last year, the lowest it has been since the mid-1930s.

Mississippi towns which have lost more than 20% population since 2010 are Smithville (-21.6%) and Winona (-21%).

Overall, the population of the state of Mississippi increased by 0.2% since 2010, but lost 4,871 people last year.
