Greenwood losing a neurosurgeon

Monday, May 31, 2021, 1:00 pm News Flash Archive

Dr. Jimmy Miller, one of two neurosurgeons in Greenwood, has announced his retirement effective September 1, 2021.

Dr. Miller stated in his announcement that he has been practicing at Greenwood Leflore Hospital for 16 years. He will take no new patients as of now, and schedule no more surgical procedures.

Dr. Craig Clark will continue his neurosurgical practice, and Dr. Miller recommends that patient referrals be sent to Dr. Clark.

Dr. Miller will continue seeing patients during the summer and help in recommending future treatment options for his current patients.

Greenwood Leflore Hospital has continued to lose experienced doctors over the past several years, with Dr. Miller becoming the latest.

Late last Fall, Drs. Dick Meek and S. R. Evans Jr. closed their well-established OB/GYN practices, leaving only two physicians to deliver babies in the county.
