Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board held a public hearing on installing speed bumps in various locations in the county. Property hearings and zoning requests were entertained. Tax Collector Sara Kenwright sought and received permission to shift approximately $50,000 of her salary and expenses away from local taxpayers and onto the state retirement fund. The Board discussed the one dollar parking excise proposed on ticket sales to events at the Civic Center. The Board heard several matters brought by Emergency Response director T. W. Cooper. Several expenditures for advertisements were discussed.
