Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board handled two items of business related to the Grain Terminal project. Angela Curry, Executive Director of the Industrial Board, stopped by to discuss economic development in the area. Mr. Bardin Redditt, airport manager, appeared to discuss the agreement with the FAA regarding the control tower. A discussion regarding the proposed federal health clinic took place. The Board appointed a search committee to find individuals to serve on the board for the proposed clinic.Several "advertisements of county resources" were approved. The Board went into closed session to discuss whether to entertain an appeal from a youth detention facility employee. The Board directed the individual to exhaust her options with the county judge before the Board would consider hearing her appeal.
