Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board discussed some dilapidated properties with David Fondren, the code enforcement officer. County Court Judge Kevin Adams presented a discussion of the Juvenile Drug Court program. Tax Assessor Leroy Ware requested funds to mail out property valuation notices to taxpayers in the county. Andrew McQueen presented some business relating to the Civic Center. A Special Prosecutor had to be appointed to hear a case in Justice Court due to a conflict. The Board approved a sponsorship for the MVSU Inaugural Ball. A CDBG Grant administered by Three Rivers Community and Economic Development Corporation had to be returned due to poor management by Three Rivers. The Board had to handle the matter of the unclaimed body of Henry Henderson.
