The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. Marion Howard presented information on the upcoming Arbor Day activities. The Chamber of Commerce Young Emerging Leaders class made a presentation. The council approved appointments or re-appointments to 26 positions on various city boards and commissions.
