Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its regular monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. A report from Beth Stevens on the Chamber's YELL class was presented. Representatives of Inline Broadband gave a presentation. The proposed sign ordinance was again moved to the study agenda. The Council approved purchase of video camera recorders for several patrol cars. The Council voted to join into a lawsuit against the MS Department of Revenue regarding the assessment for taxes of low income housing units.
