The first marker on the Mississippi Freedom Trail was dedicated in Money, Mississippi. Participants included Ward Emling, Dr. Leslie B. McLemore, Rev. Leroy Williams, Jerome Little, Supervisor Wayne Self, Rep. Willie J. Perkins, Sen. David Jordan, and Rev. Wheeler Parker.
