Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

Lee Jenkins from the Brain Injury Association of Mississippi addressed the council on the subject of a mandatory helmet ordinance for bicycle riders. Gay Moss presented the audit for the city. The Audit report was received. The Council discussed the helmet ordinance and another ordinance to ban sagging pants.
