Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council appointed Fred T. Neely and Company as the airport auditor. A final tax exemption for Milwaukee Tools was approved. Two requests for zoning use exceptions were rejected. The Council received a report that the Department of Justice has approved the new ward lines. The Council rejected the RFP and request to advertise the sale of the Hospital by a vote of 4 to 2. Mr. Cannon abstained, Mr. Palmer and Mr. Stevenson voted aye, and Messrs. Jordan, McCoy, Jennings, and Mrs. Cookston voted nay.
