Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council gave $7500 to the Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas decoration maintenance and the Parade. The Council authorized the Hospital Board to provide support for the Leflore County Health Clinic up to $75,000. It also authorized the Mayor to execute an agreement with Leflore County regarding maintenance of city streets, ditches and right-of-ways.
