Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. Danielle Morgan presented for the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Money was approved to advertise the Museum of the Mississippi Delta. A change order for the rehabilitation of the Police station was approved. The Council requested the state legislature to extend the sales tax that funds the GCVB.
