Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board heard a report by Angela Curry regarding a funding request for an industrial project. Carlos Moore and L. N. Chandler Rogers presented proposals to hire their respective law firms to represent the county in a mass tort litigation against opioid drug makers. Ed Hargett discussed his quarterly report on the jail administration. A resolution honoring Dr. Les Daniels was adopted. Jimmy Lloyd discussed the closure of a county road. The Board went into executive session to discuss plans by the state to reopen the prison.
