Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board heard objections to, and approved, the 2017 Real and Personal Property Roll. A hearing on a request for zoning variance was held. Allan Hammons brought forward a discussion of the new FAA grant. Angela Curry presented Milwaukee Tool's request for a freeport tax exemption. The Board went into executive session to discuss a personnel matter. The Board approved moving forward to secure RFPs for leasing the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. The Board heard from Tax Assessor Leroy Ware about a Bureau of Revenue mistake which resulted in charging Greenwood city car tags too much. A verbal fight broke out between Sam Abraham and Wayne Self over county resources being used on private property and to assist the city.
