The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. The Council received and accepted the school board's budget for the next year. The CVBG upcoming budget was also approved. An agreement with a company to collect delinquent fines was approved. The budget for the city for the upcoming year was approved.
