Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board held a public hearing on the upcoming year's budget and tax levy. George Whitten, Jr., a local attorney, urged the Board to reject yet another large tax rate increase requested by the county school conservator, but the Board voted to approve the request as submitted. A discussion of the sewage issues in Swiftown took place.
