The Greenwood Leflore Hospital Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting.

According to the financial statement provided for March and April, the Hospital had an overall net loss of $5.171 million over the two months. No information was provided regarding the cash balance financial status.

This huge net loss comes even after the Hospital received a $2.86 million emergency CARES Act Grant in April.

Patient revenue for the month of April fell to $3.57 million, due to the cancellation of most procedures because of the COVID-19 epidemic. Typically, the patient service revenue is around $9 million per month.

For the first seven months of the fiscal year, the Hospital lost $8.062 million overall.

The Board unanimously approved a resolution recognizing Mrs. Dorothy Banks Boles for her over 40 years of nursing service at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. The medical staff requested that the 5-WEST nursing station be named in her honor.

The Board voted to extend the ENT clinic lease to Dr. Pearson Windham to increase to three days a week.

Dawne Holmes reported that the hospital was not eligible to apply for the PPP loan (Paycheck Protection Program) as had previously been hoped.

The Board went into executive session and excluded the media and the public for 72 minutes.
