The Board of the Greenwood Convention and Visitors Bureau held a regular monthly meeting. During an executive session, the board voted to offer Ashley Farmer the position of interim executive director at the salary of $70,000 per year. Mrs. Farmer accepted the position. Mrs. Farmer is presently suing the GCVB for racial discrimination for passing her over for the position of executive director when it hired Patrick Ervin instead of her. Mr. Ervin quit after four months to take a job as publisher and editor of the Indianola newspaper Enterprise-Tocsin. GCVB is now hunting for a new executive director.
