Tray Hairston from Butler-Snow came to discuss the details of the city financing the $4.5 million payment to UMMC for hospital repairs and to pay off the Medicare loan. It appears that it will require a GO bond issue, and a property tax increase. Furthermore, it appears that this will all take three months to complete, since notices have to be published and bids for the sale of the bonds taken.
