Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The board held the required public hearing on the budget and property tax levy for next year.

The board was presented with minutes for April and May meetings by Chancery Clerk Johnny Gary.

The board held a discussion about Greenwood Leflore Hospital, and what was the plan if CMS finally denies critical access designation for the hospital.

County Court Judge James Littleton presented his orders hiring five officers, a part time officer, and a director for the Juvenile Detention Facility.

The board went into executive session to discuss possible litigation, and also received an update on the Pafford ambulence contract, as well as the discussions with the audit department.

The board thanked Betty Sanders for her service as temporary board attorney, and voted unanimously to hire Kelvin Pulley to serve until January 2024, when the board attorney is regularly appointed annually.
