Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The board held a public hearing.

The board was asked by Chancery Clerk Johnny Gary to approve the minutes of the June 2023 meetings.

The new Extension Service agent was introduced to the board.

The Department of Child Protection Services' Catrinna McClain requested the board provide it the money already allocated.

Reggie Ross of the NCPDD brought for approval quotes for the "Bread and Butter Shoppe."

Angela Curry and John Stewart requested an increase in funding for the Industrial Board.

A resolution honoring Dr. Booker T. Moore Sr was adopted.

The Chamber of Commerce requested that the board approve sponsorship of the Delta Band Festival Christmas Parade event.

The county engineer brought several matters for board approval, including a proposal to modernize the various elevators in county facilities.

The board went into executive session to discuss the two bids for the lease or purchase of the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. The board voted to table the bids until the next regular meeting.
