Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

Chancery Clerk Johnny Gary presented minutes of the July meetings for approval.

An order by Judge James Littleton to hire Minnie Riley as administrative assistant at the Juvenile Detention Facility was presented again.

The board considered approval to purchase an explosive detection dog for over $10,000.

The board decided not to close the courthouse this Friday for the Christmas Parade.

Sheriff Banks sent over resolutions to hire 3 new employees.

The board went into executive session to discuss safety issues at the jail and the two bids to lease or purchase the Greenwood Leflore Hospital, but no action was taken.
