Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The board voted to go into closed session, but then determined that there was no sufficient reason to do so.

The board voted to declare the office of circuit clerk vacant due to the death of Circuit Clerk Elmus Stockstill. The board voted to appoint Deputy Circuit Clerk Kelly Roberts as the new circuit clerk.

Chancery Clerk Johnny Gary presented minutes from July 2023 for approval.

The board voted to accept the resignation of Bobby Norwood as county volunteer fire administrator.

The board voted to approve a resolution honoring Mrs. Calanza McQueen.

The county engineer presented several matters related to work on West Claiborne in Greenwood, a railroad right of way, to hiring Eddie Stuckey to appraise an SAP project, and quotes for the Sunflower Park Electrical work.

The board went into executive session, and upon coming out, voted to approve two leases between Leflore County and youth and after school non-profits.
