Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The board tabled minutes for the months of July 2023 through January 2024. The minutes were presented by Chesley Brewer, who the board hired to help catch up the minutes, which have been delinquent for months on end.

The board approved the land assessment roll and the Oxbow Crush property tax exemption.

Leroy Ware presented his report as county administrator.

The board took up a request to issue a payment of $72,038.25 to Sam Odle's company in Indiana. Mr. Odle has been consulting regarding the hospital financial crisis.

The board received a proposal from Otis Elevator Company regarding repairs to the broken elevators in the courthouse.

The board went into executive session to discuss a personnel matter, and to discuss a letter notifying the county of a possible lawsuit against Greenwood Leflore Hospital, but no action was taken on either item.

The board approved a proposal from Uptel regarding security equipment for the county jail.
