Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The county administrator Leroy Ware brought several matters before the board for approval, including hiring a maintenance director, paying the county's part of an FAA grant match to repair the apron at the airport, paying Otis Elevator for its evaluation of the broken courthouse elevators, and a matter relating to the airport board.

Judge James Littleton asked the board to approve the hiring of a translator for the Juvenile Detention Facility and youth court, and to approve installing fiber internet in the building.

The board received a request from Humphreys County for assistance in a maintenance issue.

Pafford EMS Ambulance Service's agreement came up for review and approval.

The CMI lease and its continuance were also on the agenda.

Some proposed gear for the county volunteer fire department was presented.

Sheriff Payne requested approval for two personnel hires and/or reassignments.

The Leflore County Solid Waste Division requested approval to advertize for the purchase of new garbage trucks.

The county engineer brought two estimates and agreements regard CR 523 and the Sunflower Park walking path.
