Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

Ed Hargett gave his report on the Juvenile Detention Center building issues. An idea is circulating to build a more regional facility that could save Leflore County the money being spent to repair the aging building. He also brought up the possibility of raising the per diem charged for holding people committed from outside the county.

Minutes for January and early February meetings were brought to the board for approval. The January minutes were approved, and the February minutes were tabled.

Retired tax collector Annie Conley is being rehired for part time work in that office. The board accepted the resignation of Marissa Jones.

Mr. Leroy Ware, interim county administrator, told the board that candidates for county administrator will be interviewed starting next Monday.

The MDA grant to help fix the elevators at the courthouse was accepted.
